A Game of Sports and Art in Zadar
On Thursday, May 15th 2021 in the Zadar’s Ducal Palace, the Croatian Sports Museum and the National Museum Zadar opened the exhibition “A Game of Sports and Art”.
The exhibition presents the connections of sports and arts as vital aspects of society and everyday life. The Croatian Sports Museum exhibited items from its collections that represent an invaluable example of applied art and design in the field of sports, especially medals, posters, diplomas and sculptures given out as awards.
During the opening ceremony, visitors were addressed by the Director of the Departments of Sports of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, Krešimir Šamija, the Mayor of Zadar, Branko Dukić, the Director of the National Museum Zadar, Renata Peroš, and the Director of the Croatian Sports Museum, Danira Bilić.
The exhibition was part of a wider programme supported by the city of Zadar as part of its title as the European city of sports 2021, with the exhibition set to remain open until August 28th.
Attendees of the opening ceremony were given a guided tour by Marijan Sutlović, a Curator of the Croatian Sports Museum.
During the exhibition, a series of educational workshops titled “Bučar’s games for groups and schools” took place.
