Following in the footsteps of Croatia’s most famous figure in the development of modern sports, Franjo Bučar, several workshops offered pupils a brief introduction to the very beginnings of physical education in schools. This introduction was followed by activities that “brought them to the past”. The activities were a combination of individual and group exercises woven through with long forgotten games. Through a fun interaction, pupils gained new insights into the subject, were motivated to pursue physical activity and were taught about the human need to move and play. These workshops revived part of our history of the development of physical exercise.
